Allbase Biax glass cloth is a composite reinforcement fabric made from two layers of continuous E-glass fibres stitched in ±45° orientation. The non-crimp construction ensures fibres run straight and flat, increasing mechanical performance compared with traditional woven fabrics and chopped-strand mat.
This ±45° biaxial glass cloth delivers substantially higher structural performance than traditional woven fabrics, making it an excellent choice for load-bearing and highly stressed composite laminates. The ±45° fibre orientation is especially effective at enhancing shear strength and torsional rigidity, helping laminates resist twisting, flexing, and off-axis loads that would quickly fatigue conventional reinforcements.
Because the fibres are laid in a non-crimp construction and lightly stitched rather than woven, they stay straighter and are more evenly spread throughout the laminate. This enables stronger, stiffer parts for the same weight of reinforcement, as well as more predictable mechanical behaviour in finished components.
The fabric wets out easily with epoxy, polyester, and vinylester resins, making it well-suited to a wide range of composite systems and workshop setups.
