Technical overview

Our unsaturated isophthalic polyester resin in styrene is formulated with pre-acceleration for medium-reactivity processing. It is supplied as a low-viscosity amber liquid at 1.07-1.11 g/cm³, with a styrene content of 46-50% and a cone and plate viscosity of 200-250 mPa·s. The product is suitable for marine applications, pipes and tanks, with processing methods including injection moulding, resin transfer moulding and vacuum infusion.

When fully postcured, the cured unreinforced resin exhibits a tensile strength of 76 MPa, a tensile modulus of 3650 MPa, and an elongation at break of 3.5%. Flexural properties are a flexural strength of 140 MPa and a flexural modulus of 3550 MPa. Heat deflection temperature (HDT) is 86°C under ISO 75-2A (2013) conditions, and Barcol hardness at 25°C reaches 40. Volumetric shrinkage is 7.5%.
