Cross-hatch adhesion test

A quick coating adhesion test in which a lattice of cuts is scribed through the coating to the substrate, adhesive tape is applied and removed, and the amount of coating detached is rated against a standard scale. It is standardised in ISO 2409 and ASTM D3359 and is best suited to relatively thin coatings.
