Every layup I end up with resin going off in the pot before I can use it, plus a load of half-used consumables. It's money in the bin and it feels wasteful, so I'm after some practical ways to tighten this up.
Mixing to the job rather than to the pot is where most of the saving lives. Estimate the resin each stage needs and batch it, so mixing smaller quantities more often beats one big pot that starts curing before you reach the far end of the laminate. Pot life is temperature-driven, so a cooler mixing area, shallow trays that shed heat instead of deep cups that hold it, and having all your reinforcement pre-cut and laid out before you mix all buy you working time. Genuinely leftover mixed resin cannot be un-cured, but it need not be wasted, since you can cast it into small tools, blocks or test coupons rather than binning it. For consumables, decanting from bulk, resealing tins properly and rotating stock by date keeps far more of it usable.
