I'm building some flat sandwich panels, two layers of glass each side over a foam core. I'm not sure whether to run flow media across the full panel or just use spiral channels, and whether a coarse or fine peel ply matters here. I want a tidy finish for bonding later.
For a thin two-layer skin the glass carries very little resin, so full-coverage flow media usually gives a faster, more even fill than channels alone, especially over a low-permeability foam core. Peel ply choice is mostly about the surface you want afterwards, and a standard peel ply leaves a clean, keyed finish that is ideal for the secondary bonding you have in mind. Get the stack order right, peel ply against the laminate with flow media above it, so everything strips cleanly and nothing locks into the cured part. A line feed with flow media reaching close to the vacuum line tends to fill a flat panel predictably. Film, peel plies, flow media, release films and tacky tape all sit under vacuum bagging and infusion consumables if you want to compare grades. Do a dry run of the fill before you commit resin, it is cheap insurance.
