I'm new to prepreg and made a bit of a mistake. I took a roll out of the freezer yesterday and forgot to put it back, so it sat on my workbench overnight. It was still sealed in the original packaging. Is it ruined now, or can I put it back in the freezer and still use it?
Not necessarily. The thing that matters is not how long it sat out overnight, but whether the prepreg is still within its out-life. Out-life is the total time a prepreg can spend above its recommended storage temperature before it needs to be processed. If the total room-temperature exposure is still inside the manufacturer's stated limit, the roll can usually go back in the freezer and be used later. Do record the time it was out, because it counts towards the cumulative out-life. If you are not sure how long it has been out on previous occasions, or the material is going into a structural part, check the manufacturer's guidance before using it.
